MONA has been accredited as a “Coordinating Organization”, allowing it to host and/or send interested people looking to participate in a Voluntary Service in a European country. The European Solidarity Corps is funded by the European Commission to improve the education and skills of its youth. Costs covered by the European Commission include:

  • Full coverage of room and board
  • Travel expenses to and from your volunteer site (with a maximum limit)
  • Complete health insurance for the entire period of your volunteer stay abroad
  • Language training of the corresponding language to your volunteer site

SPANISH RESIDENTS SEARCHING FOR EUROPEAN VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS (MONA as a “sending” organization):
If you are resident in Spain and want to have a volunteer experience working abroad (with animals or in any field), we can help you in your search and offer you support and training for your volunteer experience.

VOLUNTEERING AT MONA (MONA as “host” organization):

At certain times of the year, MONA searches for long-term volunteers (non-residents of Spain) who can commit to the complete term of a 12 month stay (non-negotiable). Volunteer work consists of primate care-taking, but it is possible to learn many other skills in different areas of our organization.
